**Dad Makes Prom Dress out of Condoms**

I received this via e-mail from Ray's mom earlier this week and thought it was worth sharing with the rest of you. Just when you thought you've seen it all! Original to say the least.

A Positive Moment - From Jon Gordon’s Blog

Jon Gordon’s Blog » A Positive Moment
I posted about the book "The Energy Bus" a few weeks back - excellent read if you have the time. The author, Jon Gordon, send out a weekly e-newsletter each Monday. I found the message this week very inspiring; check out the link above and have a listen. He talks about how at times likes these it is imperative to stay positive. The difference between success and failure many times is belief. That you can't create your future by looking into the past and to remember to focus on the fundamentals and solutions. He goes on to explain that we need to "Fill the Void," where there a void negativity will fill it. I'm in the processes of filling the void right now...more to come on that in the next post!!! Stay tuned.

True???

Ray and I went for a walk in our neighborhood this past weekend. Many of the houses are decked out with Halloween decor. We came across the character above on a neighbors mail box. I was promptly nudged and Ray said, "Hey look, it's Charlie in the morning" and made a hissing sound. I nearly peed my pants as we continued to laugh all the way home. I've thought about it many time since the incident and it still makes me giggle. I had to get a picture and share it with you.

How About Around You?

I was excited this morning because I paid $2.85 a gallon for gas! I snapped a picture of the sign with my camera phone for proof. I didn't think I would see the day that it would drop this low again. For those of you in Canada - there are approximately 4 liters in a gallon. My question is how much are you paying for gas where you live? Post a comment by clicking on the pink word "comments" below - be sure to include the price of gas along with your location...

Gossip Girls

One of my favorite show on TV lately is Gossip Girl on the CW (CTV in Canada). It is about teenage kids who are socialites, attend an elite high school and are growing up on New York's Upper East Side. It's mostly about the characters dealing with sex, drugs, jealousy and other issues - but NONE of them look or act like they're in high school and I can't get enough. I was just surfing the net a bit and typed in gossipgirls.com Please notice the "S" that was put on the end of that site...it brought me to a celebrity gossip site that I had never seen. Although this isn't for all my readers, the site looked pretty decent so I thought I would share it with those who like this kind of trash too.

Sushi Party

So what do you do on a Friday night in Louisiana? Crawfish boil? No. Two-steppin' at the honkeytonk? Nope. High School football? That was last Friday... You guess it; Sushi Party!!! Learning how to make our own Sushi rolls and meeting new friends was such a fun way to spend last evening. Ray is pictured above in the process of making his first ever roll with the help of Shelley. The two of them used to work together the first time Ray lived here in Louisiana. She and her husband Kelly invited us to partake in the festivities. I'm still impressed with how good everything turned out...restaurant quality taste.

Great Find Ray!

For those of you who know me really well, you already know that I get on my kicks with things. Whether it be food, drinks, exercise, computer apps, gadgets, crafts or things to do for fun; I will indulge myself in whatever that kick may be until it becomes old news and then I usually forget all about it. Well, Ray brought how this Mango & Peach salsa from the store and it is mouth watering delicious! It is made by Santa Barbara Salsa (shout out to Steph in the Suburbs!) in California. I have been enjoying the salsa nearly daily with baked scoops tortilla chips. If you see it in your local grocery store, it is worth checking out...
