I've been meaning to sit down and blog for the past week but for various reasons this is the first opportunity I've had. Well big news for those that I spoken to in the past 2 weeks...Ray & I are no longer living in the great white north of Canada (Stephanie...I hope that you will continue to read my blog even though I'm no longer living in Canada...I LOVE getting comments from you!). We are now living in Bossier City/Shreveport Louisiana! We got into town on Tuesday night (less than 48 hours ago) after 38 long hours on the road with the dogs. It's a very drastic change of scenery and at first sight I think I'm really going to enjoy living here. Suzanne, they even have 5 casinos here that we can hit when you and JD come for a visit. I'm at Starbucks right now because we don't currently have internet access at our temporary housing. I was out all day yesterday with our real estate lady and am trying to get my bearings. It's always a bit strange the first few weeks of moving to a new city, especially one I've never seen before, to figure out where things are. I'll blog a bit more when I have some time and am a bit more settled.

Hey Heather,
I'm so glad to read that you've made it safe and sound. I'll bet it was quite a journey with the two dogs in the car!! Looking forward to seeing pictures from your new home. Miss you here already!!
Wow, things sure happened fast!! Good for you guys Heather!!! Don't forget about us little folk back in NB...especially this fun one from Saint John!!! LOL!!!
Heather....
Now you live where they have the best DAM food in the USA...I'm jealous....
I'm still a faithful reader and fan. Now I'm even more fascinated to hear about the adventures of a Canadian adjusting to the U.S., as I did back many years ago. My kids recently got hooked on a show called "Due South" (we got it on Netflix) which is about a Canadian Mountie working in Chicago at the consulate...it's very funny.
I'm with Marlene...Louisiana cooking is amazing...but are you living near a dam? Or is it the best DAMN food? (I have spelling and grammar issues that I'm having shock treatments for - sorry Marlene, I couldn't help it)
Hi Stephanie,
Just to clarify...our friend, Heather, is an American citizen! Little to no adjusting required there!! If anything, she's spent the past year adjusting to Canada! In fact, I'm quite certain she's going to be thrilled to never experience another one of OUR winters ever again! I think she's on to something. Maybe I'll relocate too!! Hey, Heather...got any extra room for the Marr family?
