Workin' Hard For The Money
The posts on Charlie's Adventures have not been as frequent as I would like them to be. This is the first time this week that I have had a few moments to sit at my computer and gather my thoughts. By the looks of things, I'll be working harder than I have in quite some time over the next week and a half. Here's the scoop. One of the events that I oversee is the Canadian Cancer Society's annual Daffodil Days here in Moncton. Daffodils are know as the flower of hope (more commonly referred to as the flowers from hell by the CCS staff). As with all the events I oversee there are goals that are to be met - $50,000 for this one. I can utilize anyone who willing to volunteer their time. The office assistant, Julie, has been with the cancer society for the past few years and has worked on the daffodil campaign each year and is extremely familiar how everything is done. I have really looked to her for guidance & assistance. We divided up many of the task and she was planning to take care of many key elements. Long story short, Julie had an emergency appendectomy over the weekend and is out of the office for two weeks! Suffice to say, I'm on my own with this event. It is proving to be quite the learning experience. I am confident that my goals will be met - it's just getting thought April 6th that's going to be the trick. I have a massage scheduled for Monday the 7th to help work out the kinks! If there isn't a new post soon, you now know why.

Spring is Here?
It's officially Spring, and yes you've probably guessed it, it's snowing here in Moncton. I'm no longer in denial and have come to grips with where I live and the weather associated with it. On the bright side, by being Canadian (ha!) I got the day off today for Good Friday and Monday off for a nice long Easter weekend. My boss failed to tell me about this until last week (he just assumed everyone knew that we got time off for Easter). Had I know earlier, we would've surely made plans to get away this weekend...I guess now I know better for next year. I hoping this will be a nice relaxing LONG weekend and get some reading in. Yes, I've jumped on the wagon and am reading "A New Earth." The book that Oprah is pimping hard right now...although I haven't gone so far as taking her class that is associated with the book that she is offering on-line. Have a great weekend & Happy Easter (that's for you Willie).

Roll up the Rim to Win
I don't know what it is about Tim Horton's coffee, but it really is a taste of heaven. When that warm coffee hit my lips it gives me a warm feeling all over. I've had the discussion with several people and we're all pretty much in agreement that they put crack (or rock cocaine if you prefer) in the coffee because it's that addicting. What's great is that it isn't super pricey either, so I don't feel at all bad for going there on a semi-regular basis.
Now Tim Horton's is giving us even more of an incentive to enjoy their delicious coffee (like I really need one). It's their annual Roll up the Rim to Win. Under the rim of each coffee sold is the chance to win some amazing prizes: cars, boats, GPS navigation systems, gift cards, free coffee & donuts. There is a one in nine chance of winning a prize. I have been lucky enough to win a donut - although I threw the cup away because that's really the last prize I need to claim (donut to the lips goes straight to the hips, so true). Anyway, I was excited when I saw this article in the paper today about the girl picture about who lives here in Moncton that won a car!!! It's a pretty cool little story if you have time, check it out.
I'm thinking I'll win one of the boats...just putting that out there!
